How can I configure date and name fields on a multi-page Dynamic File (such as an orientation packet) to be automatically populated when the document is counter-signed?

Dynamic Files & DocumentsDocument ConfigurationeDoc Suite/Dynamic FilesCounter-Sign Field Setup

Dynamic Files in Bolt's PDF Engine support counter-sign fields — these are date and name fields that remain blank when the caregiver initially signs the document and are automatically filled in when an authorized counter-signer (such as an RN or supervisor) completes the counter-signature.

To have date and/or name fields populated at the time of counter-signing on a multi-page orientation packet (or any multi-page Dynamic File), you need to configure each relevant field on every page where the counter-signer's date or name should appear. This is a per-page setup, meaning if your orientation packet has 5 pages and each page requires a counter-sign date, all 5 pages need the counter-sign date field configured individually.

This type of field configuration is handled by the Bolt support team through the PDF Engine. To request this setup:

1. Identify the specific Dynamic File (e.g., your orientation packet) and the exact pages that need counter-sign date and/or name fields.

2. Submit a support request specifying:

- The name of the Dynamic File

- Which pages require counter-sign fields

- Whether you need a date field, a name field, or both on each page

- A screenshot highlighting where on each page the field should appear

3. The Bolt support team will configure the fields so they are automatically populated when the counter-signer completes their signature.

Once configured, the workflow is as follows:

- The caregiver fills out and signs the document (counter-sign date/name fields remain blank at this stage).

- When the counter-signer reviews and applies their counter-signature, the designated date and name fields are automatically populated with the counter-signer's information and the date of counter-signing.

This ensures your orientation packets and similar compliance documents capture both the caregiver's and the counter-signer's information accurately across all pages.
