How can I make specific fields required on a Dynamic File in Bolt?

Dynamic Files & DocumentsDocument ConfigurationeDoc Suite/Dynamic FilesField Validation and Required Field Settings

Setting fields as required on a Dynamic File ensures that signers or form fillers cannot submit the document without completing those fields. This is configured through the PDF Engine during Dynamic File setup.

Currently, making fields required (or changing other field-level validation settings) on a Dynamic File is a configuration change that must be requested through Bolt Support. To request this change:

1. Identify the exact Dynamic File name and the specific page(s) where the fields are located.

2. Identify the specific field(s) you want to make required (e.g., "Home Address," "Parent/Guardian 1," signature fields, date fields, etc.).

3. Submit a support request with the following details:

- The name of the Dynamic File

- The page number(s) where the fields appear

- The name or description of each field that should be made required

- A screenshot highlighting the field(s), if possible

4. Bolt Support will update the field validation settings in the PDF Engine and confirm once the change is complete.

Once a field is marked as required, users filling out the Dynamic File will be unable to submit it until all required fields are completed. This helps ensure compliance and data completeness for intake documents, consent forms, binders, and other critical paperwork.

Tip: If you have multiple fields across several pages that need to be made required, you can include all of them in a single support request to streamline the process.
